Lillo MONTALTO MONELLA 24, freelance journalist at City University in London. Graduate in Arts and Modern Literature from the University of Bologna with an excellent knowledge of European culture, arts, cinema and literature. He went through slavery at an internship at QN – Il Resto del Carlino. He then decided he had enough of the Italian newspaper industry, so his next move was to look for some more enjoyable work as a freelancer for an independent radio station in Bologna, covering the local elections and national political affairs. Lillo still freelances for Radio Citta’ Fujiko as a foreign correspondent and edits the weekly foreign press review of  the Insideout program. Being an unfortunate member of the generation who decided to flee Italy (Italian ‘brain drain’)  after realising how dull their future would be in their country, he ended up in London. At City University, he focuses on international news, Italian politics and European affairs. His specialism at City is Investigative Journalism, his passion photojournalism.

Max SANTALUCIA 36, probably the oldest student at the MA International Journalist at the City University. He attained a degree in History at the University of Milan and worked for 7 years as an assistant librarian at the Digital Library of Milan. He also worked as freelance journalist for two years for Affaritaliani where he covered international news and geopolitical analyses in over 80 articles. He recently entered a cooperation with France24, covering news about Milan and he is managing an associated website  http://atlas.blogs.france24.com/. Through his work, he realized that he needed expand his international perspective, which is why he moved to  London.

Sella ONEKO 26, also studying journalism at City University. She took up journalism after a short spell of work in the development and HIV/AIDS sector after graduating with an M.A. in Anthropology (Minor: political sciences). She has spent episodes of her life in  Germany and several African countries (Zimbabwe, Kenya, Tanzania and Malawi) and looks forward to learning, sharing and discussing some of her views on this site.
